What a retreat is like

A retreat in four parts

Every retreat is built the same way: a small group, a beautiful place, a light schedule and no logistics for you to manage.

  1. A small group. 18 to 24 women, so you can meet everyone and still have space to yourself.
  2. A boutique property. We reserve the whole property, or a large part of it, so there are no outside crowds. Each property is within about 90 minutes of a major airport. [CONFIRM: wording on the buyout, and that each property fits the 90-minute rule]
  3. A light schedule. One or two optional activities each day. Skip any of them and read instead.
  4. Nothing to plan. Rooms, meals and experiences are arranged before you arrive.

Before you arrive

  • A book chosen to fit the destination arrives at your door with a handwritten note inside.
  • An optional video gathering lets you meet the other guests before you pack.
  • A concierge email address is yours for any question.
  • A short call before the retreat to confirm your room, food needs and any requests.

[CONFIRM: all four items are from the pitch deck and are plans, not yet tested]

The four days

This is a sample schedule. Each retreat will differ by property. [CONFIRM: final schedule for each retreat]

Day 1

Check in and find a welcome gift in your room: a bookmark with the retreat schedule and a name tag with a question about books to start conversation. A welcome drink, then a dinner you did not plan or set.

Day 2

Breakfast delivered to your door. Yoga on the lawn, or a slow morning reading in bed. A relaxed lunch, then an optional book exchange.

Day 3

Breakfast delivered to your door. An optional late-morning book club. Afternoon reading on the grounds, then a send-off dinner.

Day 4

A closing breakfast together. Snacks for the trip to the airport, and you head home rested.

What’s included

[PLACEHOLDER: what the price covers. Likely: three nights' lodging, all meals and drinks listed in the schedule, planned activities, welcome gift, pre-retreat book. Not included: travel to the property. Needs Lynn's confirmation once the first property and pricing are set]

Policies

[PLACEHOLDER: deposit, payment schedule, cancellation and transfer terms. These depend on the booking provider. Short version on this page, full terms on the booking page]

Questions, answered

Who is a retreat for?

Women who love to read, whether you work full time or are at home. You do not need to belong to a book club or have read anything in particular. You need to want a few days of quiet and good company.

Do I have to join the activities?

No. Everything on the schedule is optional. You can spend the whole retreat reading in your room.

Will I know anyone?

[PLACEHOLDER: how guests usually arrive, alone or with a friend. Not claimed until the first retreats have run] Before the retreat, an optional video gathering lets you meet the group. [CONFIRM: whether guests may register together, and how rooms are shared]

How many women attend?

Between 18 and 24, so the group is small enough to feel personal.

Where are the retreats held?

We start with boutique properties in Texas, each within about 90 minutes of a major airport. Each retreat page names its property. More states will follow. [CONFIRM: property names to be listed once agreed]

How do I get there?

You arrange your own travel to the nearest major airport. [PLACEHOLDER: airport transfer details, if provided]

What is included in the price?

[PLACEHOLDER: list from the Retreats page] Rooms, meals and planned activities are arranged by us.

Do I need to choose my meals in advance?

We collect your food preferences and allergies on a short call before the retreat. After that, the meals are planned for you. [CONFIRM: process, and how dietary needs are handled]

Do I have my own room?

[PLACEHOLDER: single rooms, shared rooms and whether a single supplement applies]

What should I bring?

Your books, comfortable clothes, walking shoes and anything you want to read. We will send a short packing list after you book. [PLACEHOLDER: packing list]

What about my phone?

A retreat is a chance to be less connected. [PLACEHOLDER: phone policy, if any. The pitch deck names disconnecting as a goal but sets no rule] [CONFIRM: any phone policy Lynn wants]

How do I book, and how do I pay?

Booking will open on a secure page once dates are set. For now, join the list and we will write when the first retreats open. [PLACEHOLDER: deposit, payment schedule, booking steps]

What if I need to cancel?

[PLACEHOLDER: cancellation and transfer policy]

What if a retreat is full?

Join the waitlist on that retreat's card. We write to you first if a place opens. [CONFIRM: waitlist depends on the booking provider]

Can I bring a friend, or book for a group?

[PLACEHOLDER: group and friend policy]

I have a question that isn't here.

Write to Lynn through the contact page, and we will reply. [CONFIRM: reply time to promise, such as one business day]
